Dear Shirin, Anjum, Ajmal, Arjmand and Amjad,
It is with great sadness that we received the news of the bereavement of Bishop John Victor Samuel. He has always been an inspiration to us, as he lived his commitment for peace, unity and harmony, by working tirelessly for interfaith relations, as well as for the unity of Christians in Pakistan and beyond.
He showed us with his own life, family and work, that the division that political, religious and racial identities creates, can be dissolved, if we abide in the love and compassion of Jesus Christ. He is a brilliant role model for all us, and teaching us how to ensure the vitality and relevance of churches in people’s lives. His memory and the values that he promoted all his life, will continue to guide us.
May the peace of God, that transcends all human understanding, be with you during this period of bereavement. God has embraced Bishop John Victor Samuel. May the blessed memory of Bishop Samuel fill you with love, joy and gratitude, for a life well served.
