“Our sincere prayers and thoughts are with you, as you step into this new leadership role,” reads the letter. “May God bless you abundantly to guide and assist you in the leadership of the Mar Thoma Church worldwide, and as you shine the light of our Lord Jesus Christ in the wider society.”
Sauca also expressed gratitude for the metropolitan’s spiritual approach to life. “Your concern and responses in standing alongside and in assisting communities who are afflicted by natural disasters, with humanitarian relief and with their rehabilitations have been inspiring,” Sauca wrote. “May the ecumenical witness of the church continue to shine under your leadership, as a beacon of hope in these challenging days.”
