“His genuine Christian and ecumenical positioning in our common struggle for just peace is a strong legacy that will continue to inspire younger generations,” said WCC general secretary-elect Rev. Prof. Dr Jerry Pillay. “His ecumenical leadership internationally and nationally was inspirational and has been a blessing beyond his home church.”
Amoa was regarded as a highly motivated and effective peace-builder who raised his voice to combat violence and abuse. “He will be sorely missed,” said Pillay. “May he rest in peace.”
Amoa is survived by his wife Stella, their two sons, Reginald and Philip, and their grandson, Jonas.
