"As we join his church, people and family in mourning, we also thank our Lord for the life and service of His Eminence Mor Gabriel,” said Sauca. “His Eminence Mor Gabriel dedicated his life entirely to his church and his people, serving them in the midst of very difficult conditions and realities.”
Archbishop Mor Gabriel Dahho served in Aleppo, Egypt and Brazil before being appointed as director of Mor Aphrem Seminary in Maarat Saydnaya in 2017. In April 2019 he was ordained as Archbishop, Patriarchal Vicar in Jerusalem, Jordan and the Holy Lands.
“His courage and wisdom will always be remembered and celebrated as an integral part of the Christian presence and witness in the Middle East,” said Sauca. “May his memory be eternal.”
