“We are aware of the difficulties endured by people in Portugal during the pandemic as well as the economic challenges of recent years,” wrote WCC acting general secretary Rev. Prof. Dr Ioan Sauca. “Please be assured of our prayers, both for your work and for the people of Portugal.”
Sauca expressed appreciation for the contribution of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Portugal to ecumenical relations, including to the WCC, Portuguese Council of Christian Churches, and Conference of European Churches. “We look forward to meeting delegates from Portugal at the 11th Assembly of the World Council of Churches in Karlsruhe next year,” he concluded.
