The Joint Working Group between the Roman Catholic Church and the World Council of Churches (WCC) has began to pursue two study processes on how churches can make their own the outcomes of ecumenical dialogues - the so called "reception process" - and on the "spiritual roots of ecumenism".

The group also put both the phenomenon of global migration and the role of youth in the ecumenical movement on its agenda for the next five years. The aim is to explore new methodologies of greater engagement with the constituency in the Roman Catholic Church and WCC member churches.
