Faith leaders from across the globe will lead a time of prayer and reflection, emphasizing the call to embrace climate and ecological justice and to advocate for vulnerable communities disproportionately affected by climate injustices and biodiversity loss.

The theme of this years Season of Creation draws inspiration from the words of the prophet, Amos, But let justice roll on like a river, righteousness like a never-failing stream!(Amos 5: 24). Around 2.2 billion Christians worldwide are urged to join the river of justice and peaceand work collaboratively as stewards of Gods creation.

Commencing on 1 September and culminating on 4 October, the Feast of St Francis of Assisi, also recognized as the saint of ecology, the Season of Creation aims to rejuvenate and unite Christian communities, fostering a shared commitment to the stewardship of our common home.

What began as a day of prayer for creation, proclaimed by Ecumenical Patriarch Dimitrios I in 1989, has evolved into a season of reflection and action, thanks to the efforts of the World Council of Churches in partnership with the Laudato Si Movementand other ecumenical allies. This extended period of celebration echoes the call for global environmental responsibility.
