The recently established Action by Churches Together (ACT) International Climate Change group held its first meeting at the Ecumenical Centre in Geneva, 18-19 September 2008.
ACT International members from different regions, together with representatives from the World Council of Churches and the Lutheran World Federation, met to analyze what are the impacts of climate change in natural catastrophes and emergencies which are the focus of ACT International work.
The meeting was an opportunity to share what the different participants are doing and to discern what the specific contribution of ACT International to the ecumenical climate change work could be.
The ACT International Climate change group is chaired by Peter Rottach from Diakonie Katastrophenhilfe, Germany.
