From 25 November to 10 December, we also mark 16 Days against Gender-Based Violence.

The document outlines action areas for churches in tackling public finance and debt, regulation of the financial sector and global economic governance with the aim of realizing ethical, democratic, just and sustainable financial and economic systems.

A group of laity, drawn from different churches and from different parts of India, participated in a consultation held in Chennai on the 8 and 9 December 2012, organized by the Board of Theological Education of the Senate of Serampore College to reflect on the Theme of the forthcoming 10th Assembly of the World Council of Churches, "God of life, lead us to justice and peace".

The WCC, WCRC and Council for World Mission (CWM) convened the Global Ecumenical Conference on a New Financial and Economic Architecture to engage diverse proponents, set criteria and framework and develop a plan of action and milestones towards constructing just, caring and sustainable global financial and economic structures.

A consultation on Poverty, Wealth and Ecology in Europe organized by the Conference of European Churches (CEC) and the World Council of Churches (WCC) in cooperation with churches in Hungary ended on Friday 12 November 2010 by adopting a "Budapest Call for Climate Justice".

This declaration, entitled "Listening to the cries of Mother Earth, was presented on Earth Day, 22 April 2010, at the World People's Conference on Climate Change and the Rights of Mother Earth in Cochabamba, Bolivia, by a coalition of ecumenical organizations including the WCC.
