The fourth of a series of five webinars promoted by the World Council of Churches (WCC) Pan-African Women’s Ecumenical Empowerment Network (PAWEEN) was held on 18 February, providing reflections on inclusion of both African culture and tradition into theological reflection.

Under the title “Christ’s Love in the Midst of Pandemic: Moving the World to Reconciliation and Solidarity,” the World Council of Churches (WCC) journal The Ecumenical Review explores a range of theological, spiritual, and societal questions raised by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The latest issue of The Ecumenical Review, the quarterly journal of the World Council of Churches, opens with an article by WCC general secretary the Rev. International organizations are increasingly looking to develop partnerships with faith-based organizations to promote development objectives, according to a special issue of The Ecumenical Review presented at a World Council of Churches’ (WCC) meeting in Geneva.

The Right Livelihood Award is seen as an “alternative Nobel Prize” and its laureates are often regarded as courageous people or organizations offering exemplary solutions to the root causes of global problems. “Diakonia”, or the service ministry of the church, provides the theme for the October 2014 issue of a quarterly journal published by the WCC with Wiley Blackwell of Oxford.

The July 2013 instalment of the quarterly journal The Ecumenical Review contemplates the future, and particularly the future of the WCC beyond its 10th Assembly. The assembly is to take place from 30 October to 8 November.
