The World Council of Churches (WCC) executive committee met in Cyprus from 21-26 November at the invitation of the Church of Cyprus, Holy Metropolis of Constantia and Ammochostos, extended by H.E. Metropolitan Dr Vasilios of Constantia - Ammochostos, Church of Cyprus, WCC president. The metropolitan reflected on the history of conflict and occupation, and the ongoing hope for peace, in Cyprus.

HIV/AIDS until when?

Many people living with HIV like me, would really like to say the HIV pandemic has finished and a cure and vaccine are available. That is aspirational; it is a dream. Currently there are 39 million people living with HIV, but only 29 million have access to treatment.

This September, in New York, I attended the United Nations (UN) Summit of the Future. This event brought thousands of people from across the globe together. It included: heads of state, government representatives, civil society actors, faith-based actors, young people, and activists. Together we discussed the future of our world and the multilateral system, and a Pact for the Future document was adopted by governments.

Prof. Dr Jerry Pillay expressed solidarity with churches and communities in Pakistan upon receiving the news of the brutal attack of Nazir Masih, a Christian, and the subsequent destruction of homes and businesses owned by the local Christian community in Sargodha in Punjab province, in Pakistan.
