אלו המילים שאנשים ממלמלים כאשר נאדר אבו אמשה, מנכ"ל המחלקה לשירותים לפליטים פלסטינים של מועצת הכנסיות במזרח התיכון (DSPR-MECC), מנסה לעזור להם פשוט לעבור את היום.

Stimmen der Standhaftigkeit inmitten der Zerstörung

„Wir werden Gaza nicht verlassen, so lange dort noch eine Kirche steht.“

„Wir werden nicht die letzten Christen sein, die in Gaza leben.“

„Wir haben alles verloren, aber wir können unsere Mission und unsere Zugehörigkeit zu diesem Ort, der uns so sehr am Herzen liegt, niemals aufgeben.“

„Das Christentum ist hier entstanden, und es wird auch hier bleiben.“  

Diese Worte hört Nader Abu Amsha, Direktor der Abteilung für Soziale Dienste für Palästinensische Geflüchtete des Rates der Kirchen im Nahen Osten (DSPR-MECC), von den Menschen, die er in ihrem Überlebenskampf zu unterstützen versucht.

Entre los escombros resuenan palabras de firmeza

“No nos iremos de Gaza mientras haya una iglesia en pie”.

“No seremos los últimos cristianos que vivan en Gaza”.

“Lo hemos perdido todo, pero no podemos perder nuestra misión ni nuestra pertenencia a este lugar que tanto amamos”.

“El cristianismo empezó aquí y aquí seguirá”.  

Estas son algunas de las frases que escucha Nader Abu Amsha, director ejecutivo del Departamento de Servicios a los Refugiados Palestinos del Consejo de Iglesias del Oriente Medio (DSRP-MECC), mientras intenta ayudar a los refugiados simplemente a llegar con vida al día siguiente.

Los líderes de las iglesias de Tierra Santa se reúnen con el CMI: “la luz y la vida tienen una existencia verdadera y duradera”

El secretario general del Consejo Mundial de Iglesias (CMI), Rev. Prof. Dr. Jerry Pillay, se reunió con los patriarcas y líderes de las iglesias en Jerusalén el pasado 17 de febrero, y fue recibido con gratitud “en este momento difícil y complicado para todos los pueblos de esta región, y especialmente para la comunidad cristiana de Tierra Santa”, como dijo su beatitud Teófilo III, patriarca de Jerusalén, en su discurso de bienvenida.
