Der Generalsekretär des ÖRK, Pastor Dr. Olav Fykse Tveit, hat auf einer internationalen Konferenz zur Unterstützung Jerusalems den Status der Stadt thematisiert. Die „World Conference in Support of Jerusalem“, die am heutigen 17. und morgigen 18. Januar in Kairo (Ägypten) stattfindet, wurde vom Großimam der Al-Azhar Moschee, Scheich al-Tayyeb, organisiert und steht unter der Schirmherrschaft von Präsident Abdel Fattah al-Sissi.

Dr Olav Fykse Tveit addressed the status of Jerusalem at the international "World Conference in Support of Jerusalem" on 17-18 January in Cairo, Egypt, organized by the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Sheikh al-Tayyib, under the auspices of President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi.

Expressing shock at the killings in Kuwait, Tunisia and France that took place on 26 June, the WCC acting general secretary Georges Lemopoulos said, “I grieve with those who have lost loved ones, and those who have been injured as a result of these appalling acts, which have marred the month of Ramadan, sacred to Muslims everywhere.”
