The World Council of Churches (WCC) Commission for World Mission and Evangelism is presenting the study, “Converting Discipleship: Dissidence and Metanoia”, during a webinar on 24 November at 15:00 CET.

The fourth edition of the  World Council of Churches (WCC) Eco-School on Water, Food and Climate Justice will be held 22-28 February 2021 in the Pacific region in five countries (Fiji, Tonga, Vanuatu, Tuvalu &  Solomon Islands), hosted by the Pacific Conference of Churches.

A series of five webinars in five days convened by the World Council of Churches (WCC) will offer theological reflections on “Hate Speech and Whiteness.” Running from 19-23 October, the webinars are being produced bv the WCC’s Theological Study Group of the Pilgrimage of Justice and Peace.

This series of short webinars are promoted by the Geneva Interfaith Forum on Climate Change, Environment and Human Rights (comprised of World Council of Churches, Brahma Kumaris World Spiritual University, Dominicans for Justice and Peace, Franciscans International, the Lutheran World Federation, and Soka Gakkai International) on the occasion of the 44th Session of the Human Rights Council.

The thematic focus of the World Council of Churches (WCC) Pilgrimage of Justice and Peace (PJP) in 2019 is Racism.The WCC Commission of the Churches on International Affairs (CCIA), organises a series of eight WCC CCIA regional expert Webinars on the issue of racism and racial justice from August to December 2019. The aim of the webinars is to explore how racism manifests itself in the respective regions, learn about the work that churches and ecumenical partners are doing in this respect, identify synergies and avenues for possible collaboration.

This event plans to engage 30 indigenous young people from around the world and 20 Asian young people to go deeper on the topic of racism and exchange experiences. Key reasons for gathering in Japan is to show concrete solidarity with Indigenous Communities in Japan, share stories and hear the issues that they are struggling with.

On the occasion of the 7th United Nations Forum on Business and Human Rights (26-28 November, Geneva), you are warmly invited to a forum convened by the Indigenous Peoples’ Movement for Self-determination and Liberation (IPMSDL) and the World Council of Churches on the situation of Indigenous communities struggling against transnational extractive operations, energy projects and agro-industrial plantations.

The 24th Conference of Parties (COP 24) of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change in Katowice, Poland, is a crucial moment for governments to adopt the guidelines for the effective implementation of the Paris Agreement. We believe that faith communities have made significant contributions in addressing the immense challenges posed by climate change through advocacy, mobilisation, capacity building and education. While gathering around the COP 24, there will be a moment of sharing together.

We invite all faith-oriented participants of COP24 to participate in this informal gathering.

Up to 200 Indigenous participants from around the globe, representing regional,
national and local ecumenical Indigenous networks, communities, and churches
will gather in Rotorua New Zealand.

An interactive seminar “Fostering Solidarity for Human Rights, Peace and Justice” featuring several laureates of the Right Livelihood Award will take place on 31 October, 6-8 pm at the Ecumenical Centre in Geneva, where the LWF and the WCC have their offices.

Hosted by the Sami Church Council (Church of Norway), the World Council of Churches will convene a conference on the theme “Reconciliation Processes in Indigenous Contexts” in Trondheim, Norway, on 20-21 June. The conference will centre on two thematic focuses, “Truth and Healing” and “Reconciliation and Transformation."
