Prof. Dr h.c. Humberto Martin Shikiya, vice president of the Regional Ecumenical Advisory and Service Center (CREAS) In Argentina, reflects on how “Serving a Wounded World in Interreligious Solidarity: A Christian Call to Reflection and Action During COVID-19 and Beyond” is being received as a hopeful call to collaborate ecumenically and interreligiously. The World Council of Churches (WCC) and the Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue jointly published “Serving a Wounded World” to encourage churches and Christian organizations to reflect on the importance of interreligious solidarity in a world wounded by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Churches’ Week of Action on Food

15 - 22 October 2017

The Churches’ Week of Action on Food is an opportunity for Christians and others around the world to act together for food justice and food sovereignty. It is a special time to raise awareness about farming approaches that help individuals and communities develop resiliency and combat poverty. The Food for Life Campaign places a particular emphasis on sustainable agricultural practices and the situation of smallholder producers and their access to, and control over, natural resources such as land, water and seeds.

Semaine d’action des Églises pour l’alimentation

15 - 22 October 2017

La Semaine d’action des Églises pour l’alimentation offre aux chrétiens et chrétiennes et à d’autres la possibilité d’agir ensemble en faveur de la justice alimentaire et de la souveraineté alimentaire. Il s’agit d’un moment privilégié pour sensibiliser l’opinion publique aux méthodes agricoles qui permettent de développer la résilience des individus et des communautés et de lutter contre la pauvreté. La Campagne de l’«Alimentation pour la vie» est axée sur les pratiques agricoles durables et la situation des petits paysans, notamment leur accès aux ressources naturelles – terre, eau et semences en particulier – et les moyens d’action qu’ils ont sur celles-ci.
