Opening the launch of the text “Future of Mission Cooperation”—the last in a World Council of Churches (WCC) trilogy reflecting on the centenary of the International Missionary Council—WCC general secretary Rev. Prof. Dr Jerry Pillay described the volume as “the outcome of a rich and long process.”

The World Council of Churches Commission on World Mission and Evangelism released on 10 November a new publication “Call to Discipleship: Mission in the Pilgrimage of Justice and Peace,” a collection of study documents of the WCC Commission on World Mission and Evangelism 2018-2021.

As the Finnish Mission Council celebrated its centenary on 12 October in Tampere, Finland, the Lutheran Archbishop of Finland, Dr Tapio Luoma, celebrated the witness in mission of the earlier missionaries and generations. Material for the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity is available on smart phones, computers and tablets as the WCC continues its collaboration with YouVersion, developer of the “Bible App.” Through the “Bible App,” biblical reflections from the Week of Prayer will appear in digital format in English, French, Spanish, German and Portuguese. The app allows users to read the Bible, share verses with their social networks, and bookmark their favorite passages.

A celebration of the 500th anniversary of the Reformation, called the “European Reformation Roadmap,” will begin in November 2016 in Geneva, then tour across sites of significance through May 2017.
