The World Council of Churches (WCC) will host at the Ecumenical Center a Global Summit on Gender Equality in Nationality Laws—organized by the Global Campaign for Equal Nationality Rights, UNHCR, UNICEF, and UN Women—on 13 June.

During the 75th commemoration of what Palestinians refer to as the nakba, or catastrophe”—when hundreds of thousands of people were uprooted during Israel's creation in 1948—World Council of Churches (WCC) general secretary Rev. Prof. Dr Jerry Pillay expressed solidarity with member churches in the Holy Land.

WCC mourns the death of Julio de Santa Ana

“It was with sadness that we received the news of the passing of Prof. Dr Julio Hector de Santa Ana, a reference of ecumenical theology in a liberating perspective,” said Rev. Prof. Dr Jerry Pillay, general secretary of the World Council of Churches (WCC). De Santa Ana passed away in Geneva, Switzerland, on 17 April.
