During a webinar on 25 April, young people shared their honest perspectives on “safe spaces” in faith communities. They talked about the characteristics of a safe space—and what churches can do better, particularly when working with issues related to HIV and reproductive health.

As part of an ongoing campaign on youth and patriotism, the All Africa Conference of Churches has convened a pre-congress meeting in the Kenyan capital, Nairobi, to prepare for a continental youth assembly later next year.

On 12 August, International Youth Day, youth led a TED-style talk and discussion in Geneva, with five young speakers from different parts of the world, four virtually and one live. The latest issue of The Ecumenical Review, the quarterly journal of the World Council of Churches, contains a selection of articles received in response to a call for contributions by younger theologians and researchers to mark the WCC’s 70th anniversary.
