Seminar: The Feast of Creation and the Mystery of Creation: Ecumenism, Theology, Liturgy, and Signs of the Times in Dialogue

The World Council of Churches (WCC), with the Laudato Si’ Movement and other partners, will cohost a seminar in Assisi, Italy, on 15-16 March. Entitled "The Feast of Creation and the Mystery of Creation: Ecumenism, Theology, Liturgy, and Signs of the Times in Dialogue,” the event aims to deepen the collective understanding and appreciation of the Feast of Creation, observed on 1 September.

Lorraine Netro, who was raised in the Gwichin First Nation of Old Crow, Yukon (Canada), is part of an indigenous community—but shes also a global citizen.

The World Council of Churches (WCC) is part of the “Fight Inequality” Alliance that aims to “build a global movement to counter the excessive concentration of power and wealth in the hands of a small elite and achieve a just, equal and sustainable world”. On 20 January, an ecumenical prayer service will be held in the WCC headquarters in Geneva as part of its involvement in the Week of Action to Fight Inequality 2020 (18 - 25 January).

Der Weltgebetstag für ein Ende des Hungers will ökumenische Partner und Glaubensgemeinschaften aus aller Welt zu einer gemeinsam betenden und spirituellen Bewegungen vereinen, um: durch Informationen und Empfehlungen zum Gebet, zur Reflexion und zu konkret-praktischem Engagement anzuregen; Bewusstsein zu schaffen für die Auswirkungen von Hunger für die am stärksten gefährdeten Kinder und Familien und dabei zu helfen, die Grundursachen zu bekämpfen; eine Vernetzung mit kirchlichen und anderen humanitären Organisationen zu ermöglichen, die sich derzeit in der Nothilfe engagieren, um kurzfristige Verbesserungen zu schaffen, und darüber hinaus langfristig positiven Wandel herbeizuführen, damit Kinder und Familien Gottes Plan von einem würdevollen Leben in einer friedlichen und gewaltfreien Zukunft verwirklichen können; Gemeinschaften und Gemeinden dabei zu unterstützen, sich gegenseitig im Gebet zu bedenken und sich gegenseitig zu unterstützen, indem Erfahrungen ausgetauscht und über Herausforderungen und Lösungsansätze berichtet wird.

The Global Day of Prayer to End Famine hopes to unite ecumenical partners and faith communities all over the world as a prayerful and spiritual movement to: encourage prayer, reflection and action with information and suggestions; bring awareness regarding famine’s impact on the most vulnerable children and families and to help address its root causes; connect with church-related and other humanitarian organizations that are currently working to bring immediate relief and positive long-term change so children and families can live out God’s aspiration for a dignified, peaceful and violence-free future; help communities and congregations to uphold each other in prayer and support, by sharing experiences, challenge and solutions.

El Día Internacional de Oración para Acabar con el Hambre aspira a reunir a los asociados ecuménicos y comunidades religiosas de todo el mundo, y ser un movimiento espiritual de oración para: Alentar a la oración, la reflexión y la acción con información y sugerencias. Concienciar sobre las consecuencias del hambre en los niños y familias más vulnerables y contribuir a resolver sus causas. Establecer contacto con organizaciones humanitarias eclesiales y laicas que estén trabajando en la actualidad para dar alivio inmediato al hambre y generar un cambio positivo a largo plazo, para que los niños y sus familias puedan vivir el futuro que Dios desea para ellos: digno, pacífico y libre de violencia. Ayudar a las comunidades y congregaciones a apoyarse mutuamente en la oración y la colaboración, compartiendo experiencias, problemas y soluciones.

La Journée mondiale de prière pour mettre fin à la famine espère unir les partenaires œcuméniques et communautés de foi du monde entier dans un mouvement spirituel fondé sur le recueillement qui poursuit plusieurs objectifs: encourager la prière, la réflexion et l’action par des informations et des suggestions; faire connaître les répercussions de la famine sur les enfants et les familles les plus vulnérables et permettre de s’attaquer aux causes profondes de la famine; établir des relations avec des organisations humanitaires, rattachées à des Églises ou autres, qui travaillent actuellement à apporter des secours immédiats et des changements positifs à long terme pour que les enfants et les familles puissent vivre l’aspiration voulue par Dieu à un avenir dans la dignité et la paix et à l’abri de la violence; aider les communautés et les paroisses à se soutenir mutuellement dans la prière et l’entraide en mettant en commun leurs expériences, leurs défis et leurs solutions.
