Countries in the Horn of Africa afflicted by droughts and war are facing famine which visits the region regularly leaving the United Nations and faith-based organizations battling to contain the current crisis.

“Bridging Science and Policy” is the theme of the XVI World Water Congress this week in Cancun, Mexico, and water experts are bringing that to bear in their decisions regarding the field of water. The World Council of Churches is represented at the event through its Ecumenical Water Network.

The World Council of Churches Ecumenical Water Network (WCC-EWN) hosted the Brazilian Semiarid Articulation (ASA) on 25 April for a dialogue on human rights and water justice in Brazil.
