The World Council of Churches delegation to the United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues (UNPFII), will lead a morning prayer prior to the start of the Forum’s 23^rd session.

The World Social Forum (WSF) 2024 is scheduled to take place from February 15-19 in Nepal. But the health of the water bodies is being degraded by climate change,  pollution, unsustainable overfishing, and mining.

This webinar will explore the intersections of food, land, and racial injustice and discern key lessons from initiatives and good practices that work to overcome the impact of racial injustice and inequity on food sovereignty. 

The webinar will discuss the impact of climate change on food, food systems and livelihoods. Key input will give information regarding negotiations towards developing meaningful guidance to inform climate action in agriculture.

On 10 November, the World Council of Churches (WCC) Commission on World Mission and Evangelism will release a new publication, “Call to Discipleship: Mission in the Pilgrimage of Justice and Peace,” a collection of the commission’s study documents from 2018-2021.

The World Council of Churches Commission on World Mission and Evangelism will hold an online meeting 9-11 November to evaluate its work and impact from the 10th WCC Assembly in Busan in 2013 to the 11th WCC Assembly in Karlsruhe in 2022.

The WCC Pilgrim Team Visits (PTV) will focus on indigenous communities on Standing Rock, particularly along the shore of the Missouri River (Lake Oahe) and their struggle for justice, including water justice. The PTV is hosted by the The Standing Rock Episcopal Community & North Dakota Council on Indian Ministries. Rev. Dr John Floberg is the focal point for the host.

The fourth edition of the  World Council of Churches (WCC) Eco-School on Water, Food and Climate Justice will be held 22-28 February 2021 in the Pacific region in five countries (Fiji, Tonga, Vanuatu, Tuvalu &  Solomon Islands), hosted by the Pacific Conference of Churches.
