Many WCC member churches and partner organizations have indicated that they either have experience in promoting meaningful participation of children/adolescents or would appreciate support in this area of the Churches' Commitments to Children. The webinar will include information on upcoming opportunities for churches. It also aims to foster a network of churches engaged in special efforts to give children/adolescents a space and voice in churches and in society at large.

The "Hearing on Racism, Discrimination, Afrophobia and Xenophobia: The experience of people of African descent in the USA" is organized by the World Council of Churches, together with the National Council of The Churches of Christ in the USA. On Monday 5 June 2017, The WCC is calling on Christians worldwide to join in prayer for just peace in the Holy Land by taking part in a Pentecost prayer service.

At its first Eco-School on Water, Food and Climate Justice, the WCC's Ecumenical Water Network (EWN) along with its Ecumenical Advocacy Alliance will bring together about 20 young people from the Africa region. The WCC's Ecumenical Institute at Bossey will host a series of events to celebrate seventy years of ecumenical formation, including prayers, guided tours, an evening concert, as well as discussion on “Peace-Building and the Role of Religions”.

Religious actors representing different faiths from a broad range of countries participate in the meeting, including Burundi, the Central African Republic, Chad, Cote d'Ivoire, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ethiopia, Guinea, Kenya, Liberia, Malawi, Nigeria, Rwanda, Somalia, South Africa, South Sudan, Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda and Zimbabwe. They will work together over two days to develop a strategy to prevent and counter incitement to discrimination, hostility and violence in the region.

The event is co-organized by the United Nations Office on Genocide Prevention and the Responsibility to Protect, the International Dialogue Centre (KAICIID), the World Council of Churches, and the Network for Religious and Traditional Peacemakers.
