The deputy general secretary of the World Council of Churches (WCC), Georges Lemopoulos, is travelling to Jerusalem 2-4 April to meet with the Greek Orthodox Patriarch of Jerusalem, His Beatitude Irineos I.

It is with great sorrow that the World Council of Churches (WCC) shares the news that its publisher, Jan H. Kok, died on 7 February 2002 at the age of 59, after a long and courageous struggle with cancer.

An ecumenical team of more than 20 people from all continents, representing churches, regional ecumenical organizations and Indigenous Peoples' communities is attending the second Preparatory Committee (PrepCom) for the World Summit on Sustainable Development (WSSD).
