The team—comprised of experts in different facets of faith-related pandemic response—is here for you, said WCC acting general secretary Rev. "The COVID-19 pandemic, which has affected the whole world, is also affecting the way Easter is to be celebrated.”

Vorschläge für Gebete und Musik müssen bis zum 30. April 2020 eingereicht werden: Der Ökumenische Rat der Kirchen (ÖRK) ruft zur Einreichung von Vorschlägen für Gebete und Musik für seine 11. Vollversammlung auf, die 2021 in Karlsruhe, Deutschland, stattfinden wird. Unlängst wurden Richtlinien zur Einreichung dieser Vorschläge veröffentlicht, die genau darlegen, wie die Vorschläge das Thema der Vollversammlung – „Die Liebe Christi bewegt, versöhnt und eint die Welt“ – bestenfalls widerspiegeln sollen.

Der ÖRK hat ein aus acht erfahrenen Personen bestehendes Team zusammengestellt, das Kirchen beratend zur Seite steht und sie dabei unterstützt, ihre Rolle während der Coronavirus-Pandemie zu finden, sich als Glaubensgemeinschaften auf die Situation einzustellen zu können und sich untereinander am besten zu unterstützen und zu kommunizieren.

The WCC is offering member churches some resources with a human face during the COVID-19 pandemic. A team of eight resource people has been made available to consult on how churches can discern their roles during the coronavirus pandemic, how they can adapt as faith communities, and how they can connect and share with each other.

Pastor Dr. Olav Fykse Tveit ist seit mehr als 30 Jahren Pfarrer, Ökumeniker und Kirchenleitender und fest überzeugt, dass die Kirche die Welt verändern kann. Als Generalsekretär des ÖRK hat er in den vergangenen zehn Jahren erlebt und erfahren, welche Bedeutung Jesus Christus für Christinnen und Christen in aller Welt hat. Ende dieses Monats wird er nun in seine Heimat zurückkehren und dort als Leitender Bischof der Bischofskonferenz Oberhaupt der Kirche von Norwegen werden.

A visionary missionary heads home

After more than 30 years as a pastor, ecumenist and church leader, Rev. Dr Olav Fykse Tveit firmly believes that the church can change the world. As general secretary of the WCC for the past ten years, he has witnessed what Jesus Christ means to people of faith around the globe. By the end of this month he heads home to lead the Church of Norway as presiding bishop of its bishop’s conference.
