WCC will offer churches’ perspective during June dialogue on humanitarian aid

World Council of Churches (WCC) acting general secretary Rev. Prof. Dr Ioan Sauca will speak on Churches and humanitarian aid” during a conference organized by the Foundation Dialogue for Peace, to be held 10 June in Geneva. 


Refugees and migrants receive food and blankets from Hungarian Interchurch Aid, a member of the ACT Alliance, as they leave the Hungarian town of Hegyeshalom and prepare to cross the border into Austria. Hundreds of thousands of refugees and migrants flowed through Hungary in 2015, on their way to western Europe from Syria, Iraq and other countries.


In addition to Sauca, participants in the conference will include ambassadors, politicians, peace associations and personalities from different nationalities and cultures.

Participants will also discuss health and humanitarian aid in conflicts and crisis, economic development and humanitarian aid, and the role of the Red Cross and Red Crescent in humanitarian crisis.

The conference will be streamed live on social media and open for the press.
