¿De qué manera la formación misionera transforma el discipulado? Una consulta celebrada en Cuba del 10 al 16 de septiembre analizó esta y otras preguntas relacionadas con el texto Juntos por la vida. La reunión fue coordinada por la Comisión de Misión Mundial y Evangelización (CMME) del Consejo Mundial de Iglesias (CMI) como parte de una búsqueda continua cuyo objetivo es explorar los medios y metodologías para la aplicación práctica de Juntos por la vida a la vida de las iglesias miembros del CMI y la comunidad misionera.

“The people of the Caribbean have a rich story to tell, one that can enrich the spiritual lives of Christians around the world,” said Fr Anthony Currer of the Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian Unity. That very story was shared in a heartfelt way this week at an ecumenical gathering to create the first draft of the text that will be used for the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity 2018.

Manuel Quintero is retiring after eight years of service as the international programme coordinator for the WCC Ecumenical Accompaniment Programme in Palestine and Israel (EAPPI). Researchers around the world have a new resource for studying the history of the ecumenical movement — the personal papers of Philip Potter, general secretary of the WCC from 1972 to 1984. “We hope that the WCC Archives will receive many researchers from around the world who will learn more about the ecumenical movement to which Philip significantly contributed throughout his life,” said Hans von Rütte, WCC archivist.
