El CMI ha apoyado al Estado de Israel desde su creación en 1948. El Consejo ha pedido sistemáticamente el fin de la violencia, el repudio de todas las formas de antisemitismo, el fin de los asentamientos ilegales en los territorios palestinos ocupados y una solución al conflicto negociada por los dos Estados.

Orar y actuar por la paz de Jerusalén: la tierra sagrada de Jerusalén debe protegerse para todas las personas que comparten la ciudad, independientemente de su identidad religiosa o nacional.

La anexión de facto es hoy una realidad en los lugares por los que pasó Jesús hace dos mil años. Mediante esta iniciativa de Pascua queremos poner de relieve la situación en Tierra Santa. Si bien es posible que la amenaza de una anexión formal del territorio palestino ocupado en Cisjordania haya disminuido temporalmente, la ocupación sigue teniendo un profundo impacto negativo en las vidas, los medios de sustento y los derechos humanos del pueblo palestino.
