The second-ever Regional Ecumenical Theological Institute is set for 7-18 November in Abuja, Nigeria, and will draw about 70 young people from all over Africa. 

Organised by the Interfaith Liaison Committee, a platform co-chaired by the World Council of Churches (WCC). The online event will feature prominent voices in the field in a conversation on climate action and the role of faith communities.

From September 1 to October 4, Christians around the world are praying and caring for creation. It’s the “Season of Creation”. The beginning and the end date of Season of Creation are linked with the concern for creation in the Eastern and the Western traditions of Christianity, respectively.

A public online celebration and panel discussion on 31 August, “They too were Gathered: Paying homage to Black people’s contributions to 75 years of World Council of Churches (WCC),” will uncover the contributions of Black people from different parts of the world in the formation and growth of the WCC.

On 13 August, a global prayer for peace and reconciliation on the Korean Peninsula will unite voices seeking to build bridges between North and South Korea.

The launch of the document “Building Interreligious Solidarity in Our Wounded World. The Way of Common Formation” will take place on 28 July, during the Interreligious Studies course at the Ecumenical Institute at Bossey, and will be livestreamed on the YouTube channel of the World Council of Churches (WCC).

An ecumenical prayer on 28 July will express love and solidarity for the churches and people of Sudan.

The World Council of Churches, the Muslim Council of Elders and Rose Castle Foundation are hosting an Emerging Peacemakers Forum for young men and women working in civil society and international organizations at the Ecumenical Institute at Bossey.

The launch of a new book, "Penser les relations écologiques en théologie à l'ère de l'Anthropocène" (Eng: "Reflecting on Ecological Relations in Theology in the Anthropocene Era"), will take place during the second seminar on eco-theology on 5th July from 18:00 to 20:00 at the Salle II and III in Ecumenical Centre in Geneva.

Registration is open for the annual European Christian Internet Conference (ECIC) taking place on 25 – 27 September 2023 in Cologne, Germany, focusing on the intersection of theology and technology in a church in a digital age.

Beyond the inflicted traumata and loss of lives it gave many schools a thrust towards online education which otherwise would not have been able to continue. The time had come to reflect together on the pedagogical challenges of the changed situation for theological education.
