The Sixth World Conference on Faith and Order of the World Council of Churches (WCC) to be held in Egypt will offer participants an opportunity to gain a sense of the deep Christian spirituality of the region, according to Bishop Anba Suriel of the Coptic Orthodox Church.

“Afirmar la justicia y la dignidad humana” fue el tema de la cuarta sesión plenaria temática de la 11ª asamblea del Consejo Mundial de Iglesias (CMI), celebrada el 6 de septiembre. La presentación contó con un espectáculo de danza en silla de ruedas a cargo de Fadi El Halabi, un usuario de silla de ruedas, y de Karen Abi Nader, una artista internacional. En el baile de estilo libre, Halabi giró con facilidad con su silla de ruedas y, con movimientos lentos y coordinados junto con su compañera de baile, lanzó las manos al aire simbolizando la alegría que solo se puede sentir cuando se abordan todas las prácticas excluyentes y desempoderadoras en la iglesia y la sociedad.

„Bekräftigung von Gerechtigkeit und Menschenwürde“ war das Thema der vierten thematischen Plenarsitzung auf der 11. Vollversammlung des Ökumenischen Rats der Kirchen (ÖRK) am 6. September. Auf der Veranstaltung führten der Rollstuhlfahrer Fadi El Halabi und die internationale Künstlerin Karen Abi Nader eine Rollstuhl-Tanz-Performance auf. In diesem Freestyle-Tanz wirbelte Halabi seinen Rollstuhl spielerisch herum und schwenkte seine Hände in langsamen und auf seine Tanzpartnerin abgestimmten Bewegungen durch die Luft, als Zeichen der Freude, die nur spürbar wird, wenn alle ausgrenzenden und entmündigenden Gebräuche in Kirche und Gesellschaft angegangen werden.

La quatrième Plénière thématique de la 11^e Assemblée du Conseil œcuménique des Églises (COE), qui s’est tenue le 6 septembre, avait pour thème «Affirmer la justice et la dignité humaine.» La présentation comprenait un spectacle de danse en fauteuil roulant exécuté par Fadi El Halabi, qui est en fauteuil roulant, et Mme Karen Abi Nader, une artiste internationale. Au cours de la danse libre, M. Halabi a tourné sans effort autour de son fauteuil roulant et, grâce à de lents mouvements coordonnés avec sa partenaire, a brandi les mains en l’air, symbolisant la joie qui ne peut être ressentie que lorsque toutes les pratiques d’exclusion et de déresponsabilisation en cours dans l’Église et la société sont combattues.

“Affirming justice and human dignity”  was the theme of the fourth thematic plenary of the World Council of Churches(WCC) 11th assembly on 6 September. The presentation featured a wheelchair dance performance by Fadi El Halabi, a wheelchair user and Ms. Karen Abi Nader, an international artist. In the freestyle dance, Halabi effortlessly spinned around his wheelchair and,  with slow coordinated moves together with his dance partner, threw hands in the air symbolizing the joy that can only be felt when all exclusionary and disempowerment practices in church and society are addressed.
