Jackline Makena Mutuma es miembro del clero de la Iglesia Metodista de Kenia y estudiante del Instituto Ecuménico del Consejo Mundial de Iglesias (CMI) en Bossey, donde investiga actualmente sobre la interacción entre la esclavitud moderna y el calentamiento del planeta. También fue elegida recientemente como una de las vicemoderadoras de la Comisión de Fe y Constitución del CMI. Was können Kirchen unternehmen, um moderne Sklaverei zu verhindern?

Jackline Makena Mutuma ist Pastorin der Methodistischen Kirche in Kenia und studiert am Ökumenischen Institut des Ökumenischen Rates der Kirchen (ÖRK) in Bossey. Ihre derzeitigen wissenschaftlichen Arbeiten befassen sich mit dem Zusammenhang zwischen moderner Sklaverei und Klimawandel. Vor kurzem wurde sie zu einer der stellvertretenden Vorsitzenden der ÖRK-Kommission für Glauben und Kirchenverfassung gewählt. In einem Interview mit dem ÖRK spricht sie darüber, dass Maßnahmen zur Verhinderung moderner Sklaverei dringend erforderlich seien.

True Freedom includes:

  • A short Bible study on the book of Galatians
  • A reflection written by Revd Dr Kenneth Mtata and Bishop Alastair Redfern
  • Questions for group discussion or personal reflection
  • Case studies from churches around the world
  • Information and statistics about modern slavery
  • Artwork to contemplate and discuss

True Freedom is available in English, German, French, Spanish, and Dutch

Serge Fornerod war bis Juni 2023 Mitglied des ÖRK-Zentralauschusses und des Koordinierungsausschusses "Green Village". Er ist der neue Präsident der FAP, Fondation d'aide au Protestantisme réformé. Er hat gerade ein Buch veröffentlicht, "Les Fornerod, une famille au service de l'Eglise", in dem sich sein persönlicher Glaubensweg und sein beruflicher Werdegang kreuzen.

Visiting communities in southern Türkiye from 4-6 April 2023, the delegation met with churches in Mersin, Iskenderun, and Antioch, including communities in the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate of Antioch, Armenian Patriarchate of Constantinople, Latin Catholics and others.

Durante su visita de solidaridad a Turquía, el CMI y ACT Alianza han sido testigo de las acuciantes necesidades y, al mismo tiempo, de una gran colaboración: “todas las iglesias están trabajando juntas”

A su regreso de una visita de solidaridad a Turquía, el secretario general del Consejo Mundial de Iglesias (CMI), Rev. Prof. Dr. Jerry Pillay, y el secretario general de ACT Alianza, Rudelmar Bueno de Faria, concedieron una entrevista en vídeo para hablar de lo que vieron y de cómo las iglesias están trabajando juntas, y compartieron sus reflexiones particulares sobre la visita realizada del 4 al 6 de abril, que tuvo lugar durante la Semana Santa occidental.

Nach ihrer Rückkehr von einem Solidaritätsbesuch in der Türkei haben der Generalsekretär des Ökumenischen Rates der Kirchen, Pastor Prof. Dr. Jerry Pillay, und der Generalsekretär des ACT-Bündnisses, Rudelmar Bueno de Faria, in einem Video-Interview über die einzigartigen Eindrücke während ihres Besuchs vom 4.–6. April während der Karwoche und über die Zusammenarbeit der Kirchen berichtet.

Pastor Dr. Odair Pedroso Mateus nahm seine Lehrtätigkeit am Ökumenischen Institut in Bossey im Jahre 2004 auf und gehört seit 2007 zum Ökumenischen Rat der Kirchen (ÖRK). Eine Zeit lang übernahm er die Aufgabe des kommissarischen stellvertretenden Generalsekretärs des ÖRK und leitete die Kommission für Glauben und Kirchenverfassung. In unserem Gespräch berichtet er über seine liebsten Erinnerungen, seine Erfolge und seine Hoffnungen.

This booklet highlights the lessons learnt in a project, Strategic Engagement of Civil Society Networks and Faith Actors in the HIV Response in Four Countries,  implemented by the World Council of Churches (WCC), with the support of the Joint United Nations Program on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS), from July to December 2022 

This initiative facilitated dialogue between civil society networks, faith actors, and key national HIV stakeholders in the Dominican Republic, India, Indonesia, and Jamaica.
