WCC shares Week of Prayer for Overcoming Racism and Xenophobia

The World Council of Churches (WCC) is sharing materials for a Week of Prayer for Overcoming Racism and Xenophobia” in the week that includes the UN International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination on 21 March and the UN International Day for the Remembrance of Victims of Slavery and the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade on 25 March.

Un simposio explora cómo pueden las comunidades religiosas ser agentes de cambio para garantizar el bienestar y la sostenibilidad

Más de 600 personas asistieron al 9º Simposio anual sobre el papel de la religión y las organizaciones religiosas en los asuntos internacionales, celebrado en línea el 24 de enero. El simposio, que giró en torno al tema “Garantizar el bienestar de las personas y la sostenibilidad del planeta”, fue organizado por el Consejo Mundial de Iglesias (CMI) y una coalición de asociados religiosos y de las Naciones Unidas. En el evento participaron responsables de la ONU, representantes de organizaciones religiosas internacionales y otras personas expertas en cambio climático, desarme y otros temas relevantes.

Symposium explores how religious communities can be agents of change in securing wellbeing and sustainability

More than 600 people attended the Ninth Annual Symposium on the Role of Religion and Faith-based Organizations in International Affairs, held online on 24 January. Exploring the theme Securing Peoples Wellbeing and Planetary Sustainability,” the symposium was organized by the World Council of Churches (WCC) and a coalition of faith-based and UN partners. The event featured UN officials, representatives of international faith-based organizations, and other experts on climate change, disarmament, and other relevant topics.
