An ecumenical prayer service on World AIDS Day, to be observed 1 December, will focus on the theme “Overcoming Inequalities With Justice and Love,” a special emphasis in the context of 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence, which runs from 25 November until 10 December.

Durante la reunión del Comité Ejecutivo del Consejo Mundial de Iglesias (CMI) que tuvo lugar el 12 de noviembre —de manera presencial por primera vez en dos años—, el órgano rector comenzó sus deliberaciones con la perspectiva de reimaginar el futuro, esbozando algunas de las tendencias positivas y oportunidades que ha traido consigo la pandemia de la COVID-19, cuyo impacto ha sido, por lo demás, tan doloroso. La reunión se ha celebrado de forma híbrida en el Instituto Ecuménico de Bossey y por videoconferencia.

Als sich der Exekutivausschuss des Ökumenischen Rates der Kirchen (ÖRK) am 12. November zum ersten Mal seit zwei Jahren in Form einer Präsenzveranstaltung versammelt hat, begann das Leitungsgremium seine Beratungen mit einer neuen positiven Zukunftsperspektive auf Trends und Chancen, die sich aus den so kummervollen Erfahrungen mit der COVID-19-Pandemie ergeben können. Die Veranstaltung findet im Hybridformat sowohl am Ökumenischen Institut in Bossey als auch in Form einer Videokonferenz statt.

Le comité exécutif du Conseil œcuménique des Églises (COE) s'est réuni le 12 novembre - pour la première fois depuis deux ans - et a entamé ses travaux avec le désir de réimaginer l'avenir en identifiant certaines tendances et opportunités nées à la suite à la tragique pandémie de COVID-19. La réunion se déroule de manière hybride à l'Institut œcuménique de Bossey et par vidéoconférence.

As the World Council of Churches (WCC) executive committee convened on 12 November—face-to-face for the first time in two years—the governing body began its deliberations with a sense of reimagining the future by tracing some positive trends and opportunities born out of the grief-filled COVID-19 pandemic. The meeting is taking place in a hybrid fashion at the Bossey Ecumenical Institute and on video conference.

The World Council of Churches (WCC) hosted an interface conference on 13 October between the WCC, EKD, German Federal Foreign Office, Trans-Atlantic Network and Berlin-based diplomats to discuss the vital role that the WCC, churches and faith communities around the globe play in advancing people’s health and healing, particularly in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic.

El Consejo Mundial de Iglesias (CMI) acogió el 13 de octubre una conferencia intersectorial entre el CMI, la EKD, el Ministerio Federal de Asuntos Exteriores de Alemania y la Red Transatlántica, y diplomáticos con sede en Berlín para debatir el papel vital que desempeñan el CMI, las iglesias y las comunidades religiosas de todo el mundo en la promoción de la salud y la sanación de las personas, especialmente tras la pandemia de la COVID-19.

Der Ökumenische Rat der Kirchen (ÖRK) veranstaltete am 13. Oktober eine Schnittstellenkonferenz zwischen ÖRK, EKD, dem deutschen Auswärtigen Amt, dem Transatlantiknetzwerk und in Berlin ansässigen Diplomatinnen und Diplomaten, um über die wichtige Rolle zu sprechen, die der ÖRK, die Kirchen und die Glaubensgemeinschaften weltweit bei der Förderung von Gesundheit und Heilung, vor allem im Hinblick auf die Nachwirkungen der COVID-19-Pandemie, spielen.

Religious leaders in Tanzania, after attending a workshop on HIV, stigma, treatment adherence and faith healing, released a communique that urges further empowering of religious leaders with skills and information to combat HIV.

A high-level dialogue on urgent efforts by leading non-governmental organizations to sustain a global, multinational dialogue and cooperation amid the COVID-19 pandemic will take place on 30 August.
