World Council of Churches (WCC) specialized ministries and roundtable partners are gathering on 3-4 May at the Bossey Ecumenical Institute for a “Working Together” meeting filled with a spirit of interconnected learning and preparation for the WCC 11th Assembly.

Februar  für seine 2021 geleistete Arbeit als führende Nichtregierungsorganisation mit einem dritten Platz bei den Geneva Engage Awards für seine effektive und inspirierende Präsenz in den sozialen Medien und für sein Engagement auf diesen Plattformen ausgezeichnet.

The World Council of Churches (WCC) was honoured as a top non-governmental organization for its work during 2021, receiving a third-place Geneva Engage Award on 1 February for effective and inspiring social media outreach and engagement.

A team from the Church of Westphalia visited the World Council of Churches (WCC) Ecumenical Institute at Bossey from 27 September to 1 October, exploring a global view of ecumenism by learning about the WCC as a global ecumenical organisation.

A high-level dialogue on urgent efforts by leading non-governmental organizations to sustain a global, multinational dialogue and cooperation amid the COVID-19 pandemic will take place on 30 August.

Der heutige Beitrag zu den #16Days kommt aus dem ÖRK-Generalsekretariat und beleuchtet, welche wichtige Rolle Führungspersonen dabei spielen, Gleichberechtigung und Gerechtigkeit sichtbar werden zu lassen und festzuhalten, dass Gewalt nicht hinnehmbar ist.

During 16 Days Against Gender-Based Violence, the World Council of Churches staff are demonstrating the links between their work and efforts to overcome sexual and gender-based violence under the theme, “From our House to Yours”.

Today, the #16Days contribution is from the General Secretariat, and the important role leadership plays in making equality and justice visible, and violence unacceptable.

Kenyan theologian Esther Mombo was born into an ecumenical environment in East Africa. She has a transcontinental education and told students of ecumenism this week that African Christianity is “young and vibrant”, but that it needs to listen to the “women in the pews”.
