إدراكاً منا أننا نعيش جميعا في مجتمعات متعددة الأديان، اجتمع زعماء الكنائس الأفريقية في أديس أبابا بإثيوبيا، أثناء انعقاد ورشة العمل الإقليمية للجنة الكنائس للشؤون الدولية (CCIA) التابعة لمجلس الكنائس العالمي (WCC) في عام 2016 حول "قوانين تسجيل المواليد والجنسية التميزية بين الجنسين في أفريقيا"، مشددين على ضرورة وضع استراتيجيات وتأكيدات مشتركة بين الأديان في عملنا لمناصرة حقوق الإنسان للأشخاص عديمي الجنسية.

Reconociendo que todos vivimos en sociedades multirreligiosas, los dirigentes de las iglesias africanas, reunidos en Addis Abeba (Etiopía) durante el taller regional de 2016 de la Comisión de las Iglesias para Asuntos Internacionales (CIAI) sobre “Registro de nacimientos y leyes de nacionalidad discriminatorias por razón de género en África”, subrayaron la necesidad de formular estrategias y afirmaciones interconfesionales en nuestra labor de promoción de los derechos humanos de los apátridas.

La anexión de facto es hoy una realidad en los lugares por los que pasó Jesús hace dos mil años. Mediante esta iniciativa de Pascua queremos poner de relieve la situación en Tierra Santa. Si bien es posible que la amenaza de una anexión formal del territorio palestino ocupado en Cisjordania haya disminuido temporalmente, la ocupación sigue teniendo un profundo impacto negativo en las vidas, los medios de sustento y los derechos humanos del pueblo palestino.

Los “Compromisos de las iglesias con la niñez” apoyan la participación de las iglesias en tres áreas: protección de la infancia, participación infantil e iniciativas de justicia climática con niños.
