An ecumenical delegation composed of representatives from the Conference of European Churches and the Commission of the Bishops’ Conference of the European Union met in Helsinki on 12 July with Pekka Haavisto, Finnish minister of Foreign Affairs, to exchange on the priorities of the Finnish Presidency of the EU Council.

Unter dem Thema „Ein gerechter Frieden mit der Erde“ fand vom 13. bis 15. Oktober eine vom Ökumenischen Rat der Kirchen (ÖRK) organisierte Konferenz im Zusammenhang mit der Arktischen Versammlung statt - die größte jährliche internationale Versammlung, die sich mit der Zukunft der Arktis befasst. Gastgeberin der ÖRK-Konferenz war die Evangelisch-Lutherische Kirche Islands.

A conference organized by the World Council of Churches (WCC) and hosted by the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Iceland under the theme “Just Peace with Earth” was offered in conjunction with the Arctic Assembly, the largest annual international gathering focused on the future of the Arctic held Oct. 13-15.

Junto con la Asamblea del Círculo Ártico, la mayor reunión internacional anual sobre el futuro del Ártico, que tuvo lugar del 13 al 15 de octubre, se celebró una conferencia organizada por el Consejo Mundial de Iglesias (CMI) y auspiciada por la Iglesia Evangélica Luterana de Islandia con el tema de “la paz justa en la Tierra”.

Le Conseil œcuménique des Églises (COE) a coorganisé avec l’Église évangélique luthérienne d’Islande une conférence sur le thème «Une paix juste avec la terre» en marge de l’assemblée de l’Arctic Circle, le plus grand rassemblement annuel international consacré à l’avenir de la région arctique, qui s’est déroulé du 13 au 15 octobre.

Preaching at the Old Church of Helsinki on 27 September, WCC general secretary Rev. Dr Olav Fykse Tveit congratulated Finn Church Aid on the occasion of its 70th anniversary, reflecting on the important calling the organization fulfils in stilling hunger and thirst among people in need, not only in a local context, but worldwide.

More than 80 people from 23 European countries travelled to Helsinki for the 11th Assembly of the European Christian Environmental Network.

في أعقاب المؤتمر رفيع المستوى لمجلس الكنائس العالمي/الأمم المتحدة بشأن أزمة اللاجئين في أوروبا، والذي انعقد في المركز المسكوني بجنيف يوم 18-19 كانون الثاني/يناير، صدر بيانٌ بعنوان "استجابة أوروبا لأزمة اللاجئين، من بلدان المنشأ إلى العبور، وحتى الاستقبال واللجوء: دعوة إلى تقاسم المسؤولية وتنسيق الإجراءات".

Im Anschluss an die hochrangige ÖRK/UN-Konferenz über die Flüchtlingskrise in Europa, die am 18. und 19. Januar im Ökumenischen Zentrum in Genf stattgefunden hat, wurde eine Erklärung mit dem Titel „Europas Reaktion auf die Flüchtlings- und Migrantenkrise, von den Ursprungsorten über die Durchgangsstationen bis zur Aufnahme und Zuflucht: ein Aufruf zu gemeinsamer Verantwortung und koordiniertem Handeln“ herausgegeben.

Following the WCC/UN High Level Conference on the Refugee Crisis in Europe, which took place at the Ecumenical Centre Geneva on 18-19 January, a statement has been issued entitled "Europe’s Response to the Refuge Crisis, From Origin to Transit, Reception and Refuge, A Call for Shared Responsibility and Coordinated Action”.

Tras la conferencia de alto nivel celebrada en el Centro Ecuménico de Ginebra el 18 y el 19 de enero por el CMI y la ONU sobre la crisis de refugiados en Europa, se ha publicado una declaración titulada La respuesta de Europa a la crisis de refugiados y migrantes, desde los países de origen y de tránsito hasta los de acogida y refugio: llamamiento a la responsabilidad compartida y las medidas concertadas.

À l’issue d’une conférence de haut niveau sur la crise des réfugiés en Europe, organisée par le COE et des agences onusiennes au Centre œcuménique de Genève les 18 et 19 janvier, une déclaration a été produite, intitulée «La réponse de l’Europe à la crise des réfugiés et des migrants – Départ, transit, accueil et refuge: un appel au partage des responsabilités et à la coordination des actions».
