From Myanmar, Khaing Moh Moh finds she can befriend the world at Bossey

When the Bossey Ecumenical Institute marked 70 years of formation, hundreds of current and former students, professors and friends gathered at the Château du Bossey to celebrate. Rev. Khaing Moh Moh was one of that band, but perhaps she travelled the furthest, from Myanmar, where she serves the Shan State Lisu Baptist Association about 200 kilometres north of Mandalay, the country’s second biggest city.

Matanzas Evangelical Seminary celebrates its jubilee

More than one hundred representatives of churches, theological institutions, ecumenical organizations and specialized ministries from ten countries gathered in Matanzas, Cuba, on 1-4 October, at the Evangelical Theological Seminary (SET) to celebrate the seventieth anniversary of the institution and reflect on theological teaching and its sustainability in Latin America and the Caribbean.

«Bossey m’a ouvert l’esprit et a élargi mes horizons.» Ces mots prononcés par un ancien élève rencontré le mois dernier au cours d’une conférence ont ému la pasteure Dagmar Heller, doyenne de l’Institut œcuménique de Bossey. Pour elle, ils reflètent ce qui se produit à Bossey depuis 70 ans: une expérience bouleversante qui transforme les étudiantes et étudiants en responsables de leur communauté locale et du mouvement œcuménique mondial.

Ecumenical educators plan global institute

Starting preparations for a Global Ecumenical Theological Institute in the context of the 2018 World Mission Conference in Africa was a tangible result of a meeting of 20 ecumenical educators from Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America, the Caribbean and the Pacific. They met from 22-24 May in Halle (Germany) at the invitation of the World Council of Churches project on Ecumenical Theological Education.

Fruitful consultations in very different contexts

Last Sunday, the “Twin Consultation” on “Reformation – Education – Transformation” wrapped up at the Francke Foundations in Halle, Germany. Held six months after the first consultation in São Leopoldo, Brazil, the five-day session in Halle became a vibrant meeting point and a juncture between different religious contexts from the global North and South.
