Advocacy Outline - WCC Easter Initiative 2024

As we witness the ongoing violence and injustice in the Holy Land and seek to stand in solidarity with its peoples struggling to find peace, the 2024 WCC-EAPPI Easter initiative lifts up the call to roll away the heavy stone of violence, war, and occupation, pain, and suffering, and to remind the world of what is needed to bring about peace, and to transform swords into ploughshares.

This booklet highlights the lessons learnt in a project, Strategic Engagement of Civil Society Networks and Faith Actors in the HIV Response in Four Countries,  implemented by the World Council of Churches (WCC), with the support of the Joint United Nations Program on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS), from July to December 2022 

This initiative facilitated dialogue between civil society networks, faith actors, and key national HIV stakeholders in the Dominican Republic, India, Indonesia, and Jamaica.

Обращение участников второго экуменического круглого стола по вопросу Украины

На заседании второго экуменического круглого стола, созванном Всемирным советом церквей (ВСЦ) 10 июня в Босси, Швейцария, собрались высокопоставленные представители церквей-членов ВСЦ из нескольких соседних европейских стран, непосредственно затронутых нынешним конфликтом. Они провели взаимные консультации по значимым изменениям за период после первого заседания круглого стола, который прошел 30 марта.

It offers biblical and theological reflections on the assembly theme, inspired by a biblical verse – “For the love of Christ urges us on” (2 Cor. 5:14) – against the backdrop of critical issues confronting churches and humanity as a whole. The text is available initially in four languages – English, French, German, and Spanish.

Tabella di marcia per chiese e comunità per un’economia di vita e per la giustizia ecologica.

“Walk the Talk” si basa sulla pubblicazione del CEC intitolata “Roadmap for Congregations, Communities and Churches for an Economy of Life and Ecological Justice”.  La tabella di marcia è un’eredità del pastore Norman Tendis, scomparso nell’incidente dell’Ethiopian Airlines nel 2019. Tendis era consulente CEC per l’Economia della Vita e dal 2017 al 2019 è stato pastore della Chiesa evangelica luterana in Austria.

Norman, come si legge ancora nel documento, “si è impegnato a costruire un mondo più giusto, sostenibile, come una questione di fede. E credeva che fosse importante iniziare nei nostri cortili. Norman ha contribuito a stabilire ‘Rainbow Land’ – un giardino per rifugiati che circonda una parrocchia a Landskron, dove migranti e richiedenti asilo possono riconnettersi con la terra, promuovere amicizie tra loro e con i vicini e trarre dignità dal lavoro”. Dopo il “Piano d’azione per la giustizia ecologica”, arriva ora questo contributo.
