EAPPI continues its work with 15 new accompaniers

The Ecumenical Accompaniment Programme in Palestine and Israel welcomed 15 new ecumenical accompaniers (EAs) as it continues working with Palestinians and Israelis on peaceful solutions to the conflict. The new arrivals join six workers staying on from previous groups, bringing the total number of EAs currently on the ground to 21.

Henri Tincq interviews Konrad Raiser

Following an invitation from the public information team of the World Council of Churches (WCC), Henri Tincq, who has been in charge of religious news at the prestigious French daily "Le Monde" since 1985, interviewed Rev. Dr Konrad Raiser. The interview took place in Geneva, on Wednesday, 29 October 2003, as Raiser approached the end of his term as general secretary of WCC. This interview can be freely reproduced. EAPPI begins second year in Palestine/Israel

The Ecumenical Accompaniment Programme in Palestine and Israel (EAPPI) has begun its second year of operations with 19 ecumenical accompaniers, the largest group of volunteers since the programme began one year ago. The accompaniers began their service during the recent escalation of violence in the conflict. Â

A Church of All and for All - An interim statement

There has been a growing awareness that persons with disabilities invite the Church to explore anew the understanding of the Gospel and the nature of the Church. This interim statement, drafted with participation from the Faith and Order Commission, offers pointers and insights on major theological themes. It is hoped that it will also help the churches address inclusion, active participation and full involvement in the spiritual and social life of the church in particular and society in general.
