Members of ECHOS, the World Council of Churches (WCC) commission on Youth, met in Bangalore, India 1-10 October 2008.
The 25 members of ECHOS represent a variety of WCC consultative commissions, Central and Executive Committee, the Catholic and Pentecostal Youth and Students Networks as well as regional and global youth organizations, like the World Students Christian Federation (WSCF). Their goal is to facilitate more coherent youth participation within the WCC.

Greetings of the WCC general secretary, Rev. Dr Samuel Kobia, to the Synod of Bishops XII Ordinary General Assembly on 5-26 October 2008 in Rome. The theme of the assembly was "The Word of God in the Life and Mission of the Church."

This minute on the 30th anniversary of the Alma Ata Declaration which called for "health for all" was approved by consensus by the WCC executive committee in Luebeck, September 2008.

This statement recognizing the 60th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights was approved by consensus by the WCC executive committee in Luebeck, September 2008.

Final document of the International theological conference "Promised Land" hosted by the Swiss Protestant Federation and the Reformed Churches in Bern-Jura-Solothurn. The encounter took place as part of the WCC Palestine Israel Ecumenical Forum, an inter-church advocacy initiative. The 85 participants came from Europe, the Middle East, the Americas, Africa and Asia.

Twenty four participants gathered at Westminster College in Cambridge to engage in the first of a series of consultations under the title of Tradition and traditions. The aim of the meeting was to build on the work begun by the WCC in the 1960s and, by paying particular attention to the teachers and witnesses of the early church, to explore further the possibility of discovering, re-discovering or re-receiving some particular sources of authority which might help us together on the way to the unity of the church.
