Bossey: forming ambassadors of reconciliation

The sound of a bell “calling across fields and cities, re-assembling the community that celebrates the new creation” opened the Sunday service prepared to commemorate 70 years of the Ecumenical Institute at Bossey, on 2 October. The celebration closed a three-day programme of activities around the historic institute’s anniversary.

Pacific Conference of Churches resolutions welcomed by WCC

The 10th Assembly of the Pacific Conference of Churches (PCC), meeting from 3 to 10 March in Honiara, the Solomon Islands, adopted a series of resolutions on public issues ranging from climate change and resettlement, through seabed mining and nuclear weaponry, to the self-determination of West Papua and Maohi Nui (or Tahiti).

„Im Pazifik findet man viele herzliche und starke Ausdrucksformen des Friedens“, sagte der Generalsekretär des Ökumenischen Rates der Kirchen (ÖRK), Pfarrer Dr. Olav Fykse Tveit, in einer an die Pazifische Kirchenkonferenz ( Pacific Conference of Churches , PCC) gerichteten Ansprache anlässlich der 50-Jahrfeier ihres Bestehens, die in der vergangenen Woche in Samoa stattfand.
