The Second Africa-Europe Ecumenical Forum on Migration was held 17-21 March in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, organized by the All Africa Conference of Churches and the Churches’ Commission for Migrants in Europe (CCME). 

Speaking before the German network ProOikoumene on 26 March, Rev. Dr Kenneth Mtata, World Council of Churches programme director for Life, Justice, and Peace, delivered a lecture entitled "Prophetic Theology, Prophetic Church – in Times of Multiple Crises.”

Édité par Lori Ransom, consultante auprès du COE pour les populations autochtones, ce rapport s’apparente à une plateforme où s’expriment les voix claires, pressantes et vitales des populations autochtones face à la catastrophe climatique que nous vivons.

Editado por Lori Ransom, asesora del CMI en materia de pueblos indígenas, el informe sirve de plataforma para que las claras, acuciantes y muy necesarias voces de los pueblos indígenas arrojen luz sobre la catástrofe climática que estamos viviendo.

The World Council of Churches (WCC) has released a seminar report entitled Indigenous Spiritualities, Land Rights, and Climate Justice. Edited by Lori Ransom, WCC indigenous peoples consultant, the report serves as a platform for the clear, urgent, and much-needed voices of Indigenous peoples to expose the climate catastrophe through which we are living.

World Council of Churches (WCC) general secretary Rev. Prof. Dr Jerry Pillay welcomed Br Matthew, prior of the Taizé Community, as well as seven other Taizé brothers, who visited Geneva for three days this week.

A conference from 17-21 May in Berlin will invite global ecumenists to intentionally engage the outcomes of the Berlin conference in 1884-85, develop a response to the historic and continuing legacies of colonization, and collectively re-envision a de-colonial Africa in a concrete “Anti-Racist Ecumenical Action Plan for Decolonization and Reparations.”

As part of his visit to India from 8 to 14 February, World Council of Churches general secretary Rev. Prof. Dr Jerry Pillay visited diaconal and educational work of the Mar Thoma Syrian Church and led two Bible study sessions at the Maramon Convention.

In an address before the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe on 27 January, His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew spoke of how religion can provide a unique perspective in the objective to eradicate poverty and hunger, to address fundamentalism and racism, and to advance tolerance and dialogue.
