The World Council of Churches (WCC), and the Dicastery for Interreligious Dialogue released a joint communique from their annual meeting held 26-27 April.

The Dicastery for Promoting Interreligious Dialogue is hosting a conference in Rome on the importance of women building a culture of interreligious encounter.

During a multilateral dialogue on Fratelli tutti, World Council of Churches (WCC) acting general secretary Rev. Prof. Dr Ioan Sauca spoke on “Fraternity, Interreligious Dialogue and Social Justice.”

He joined religious leaders as well as representatives from the UN, International Labour Organization, World Health Organization, and International Red Cross on 15 April for the online event. He spoke on a panel with representatives from the Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue, Royal Institute of Interfaith Studies, and Latin American Rabbinical Seminary of the Conservative Movement in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

World Council of Churches acting general secretary Rev. Prof. Dr Ioan Sauca will serve as a panelist at a High-Level Event on Fraternity, Multilateralism and Peace: Presentation of Pope Francis’ Encyclical Letter Fratelli Tutti on 15 April.

The team for Interreligious Dialogue and Cooperation (IRDC) at the World Council of Churches (WCC) organized an online meeting on 9 March that explored possibilities for interreligious solidarity and cooperation in response to the needs of the wider world.

Der Ökumenische Rat der Kirchen (ÖRK) und der Päpstliche Rat für den interreligiösen Dialog haben ihr jüngstes gemeinsames Dokument „Interreligiöse Solidarität im Dienst einer verwundeten Welt: Ein christlicher Aufruf zum Nachdenken und Handeln während der Corona-Krise und darüber hinaus“ in verschiedene Sprachen übersetzen lassen und diese nun veröffentlicht. 

Le Conseil œcuménique des Églises (COE) et le Conseil pontifical pour le dialogue interreligieux ont officiellement lancé la traduction de leur dernier document commun «La solidarité interreligieuse au service d’un monde blessé: un appel à la réflexion et à l’action des chrétiens et des chrétiennes pendant la pandémie de COVID-19 et au-delà». 

The World Council of Churches (WCC) and the Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue officially launched translations of their latest joint document, “Serving a Wounded World in Interreligious Solidarity: A Christian Call to Reflection and Action During COVID-19 and Beyond.”

Gathering for an annual meeting from 19-20 January, the Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue and World Council of Churches Office of Interreligious Dialogue and Cooperation discussed ways of sharing more widely the document “Serving a Wounded World in Interreligious Solidarity: A Christian Call to Reflection and Action During COVID-19 and Beyond,” which was co-produced by the two offices in 2020.
