National Jewish-Christian Dialogue meets in New York, continues consideration of reparations

The National Jewish-Christian Dialogue, co-sponsored by the National Council of Churches (USA) and the National Council of Synagogues, met 19-20 April in New York City. The dialogue continued its in-depth discussion of reparations and national healing, following previous remote sessions on the broad topic of reparations and specific efforts to consider reparations by the cities of Evanston, Illinois, and Providence, Rhode Island.

WCC Vaccine Champions ready to serve

When World Immunization Week kicks off on 24 April, nine church leaders from different continents will assume their roles as Vaccine Champions. They join a team of 300 specially assigned Vaccine Champions, mobilized by UNICEF, to raise awareness on the benefits of immunization.

The World Council of Churches and the National Council of Churches of Christ in the USA grieve with the families of those who lost their lives in the mass shooting that took place in Las Vegas, Nevada, on the night of October 1, 2017. We pray for those whose lives have been shattered by this senseless act and lift up those who will be recovering years to come.

El conflicto sin resolver entre Israel y Palestina trata fundamentalmente de la justicia y, hasta que no se cumpla el requisito de la justicia, no se puede establecer la paz. Ahora que la ocupación de Jerusalén Oriental, la Ribera Occidental y Gaza por parte de Israel se acerca a los cincuenta años, son generaciones las que han estado sufriendo esta realidad. Las posibilidades de una solución viable de dos Estados, por la que hemos abogado durante mucho tiempo, son más difíciles y, según parece, menos realistas que nunca antes.

North American conference convenes to “Reclaim Evangelism!”

Nearly 60 participants gathered to reflect on the theme “Reclaim Evangelism!” at the North American 2015 Conference on Evangelism, held 29 October - 2 November in Nashville, Tennessee (U.S.). The conference was organized by the WCC and the NCCUSA, in consultation with the Canadian Council of Churches, and it was hosted by the Discipleship Ministries of the United Methodist Church.
