A special edition of Current Dialogue, the World Council of Churches (WCC) journal on interreligious relations, is marking the 50th anniversary of the WCC Office of Interreligious Dialogue and Cooperation.

The World Council of Churches (WCC) is mourning the death of Dr John Taylor, who with an initial job title of WCC programme secretary for Christian Muslim relations, later became head of the WCC interreligious office from 1980-83.

An online conference, “The Future of Interfaith Dialogue,” held  7-8 December, discussed principles for common formation as a vital element for the future of interfaith dialogue. Via panel discussion, participants discussed how the future of interfaith dialogue is best accomplished by encouraging common formation in which people, especially young people, of different faiths learn together with a common goal, and in the course of the learning discover more about each other.

As the Bridge Builder Awards were presented in a ceremony in Oslo on 22 November, interreligious peacemakers stood together to be recognized for their vital work in raising the values of respect, love, and tolerance for each other.

An online conference scheduled for 7-8 December will explore “The Future of Interfaith Dialogue”.
