Beloved ecumenical leader and indefatigable peacemaker Dr Agnes Abuom has died at the age of 73 in her native Kenya, following a short illness.

The World Council of Churches (WCC) is giving thanks for the life and witness of Prof. Richard Schneider (1938-2022), who passed away on 11 November.

Le Comité central du Conseil œcuménique des Eglises (COE) se réunira par vidéoconférence du 9 au 15 février pour préparer la 11^e Assemblée du COE, qui se tiendra en août-septembre à Karlsruhe, en Allemagne, sur le thème « L’amour du Christ mène le monde à la réconciliation et à l’unité ». L'organe directeur du COE traitera également des questions de fond et renforcera la communauté du COE par le partage et la prière. 

The World Council of Churches (WCC) central committee will convene via video conference from 9-15 February to prepare for the 11th WCC Assembly, taking place in August-September in Karlsruhe, Germany under the theme “Christ’s love moves the world to reconciliation and unity.” The WCC governing body will also address business matters and strengthen the WCC fellowship through sharing and prayer. 

In a solemn closing prayer on the first day of the World Council of Churches (WCC) central committee meeting, the WCC remembered those lost since the governing body last convened in 2018.

Lors d'une prière de clôture solennelle au premier jour de la réunion du comité central du Conseil œcuménique des Églises (COE), ce dernier s'est souvenu des personnes disparues depuis la dernière réunion de l'organe directeur en 2018.

Le Comité central du Conseil œcuménique des Églises (COE) se réunira par visioconférence du 23 au 29 juin afin de préparer la 11e Assemblée du COE qui aura lieu en 2022 à Karlsruhe, en Allemagne, et qui aura pour thème «L’amour du Christ mène le monde à la réconciliation et à l’unité». L’organe directeur du COE traitera également des affaires courantes et renforcera la communauté fraternelle du COE par le partage et la prière.
