The opening prayer of the World Council of Churches (WCC) central committee, held 15 June, offered tributes to colleagues who have passed away, including special tributes to the late Metropolitan Gennadios.

In a closing prayer on its first meeting day, the World Council of Churches (WCC) central committee mourned the lives lost during the past year, even while celebrating the legacy and gifts of those who passed away.

The World Council of Churches (WCC) central committee will convene via video conference from 9-15 February to prepare for the 11th WCC Assembly, taking place in August-September in Karlsruhe, Germany under the theme “Christ’s love moves the world to reconciliation and unity.” The WCC governing body will also address business matters and strengthen the WCC fellowship through sharing and prayer.
