Beloved ecumenical leader and indefatigable peacemaker Dr Agnes Abuom has died at the age of 73 in her native Kenya, following a short illness.

The World Council of Churches (WCC) is giving thanks for the life and witness of Prof. Richard Schneider (1938-2022), who passed away on 11 November.

The World Council of Churches (WCC) central committee will convene via video conference from 9-15 February to prepare for the 11th WCC Assembly, taking place in August-September in Karlsruhe, Germany under the theme “Christ’s love moves the world to reconciliation and unity.” The WCC governing body will also address business matters and strengthen the WCC fellowship through sharing and prayer.

Der Zentralausschuss des Ökumenischen Rates der Kirchen (ÖRK) wird vom 23. bis 29. Juni per Videokonferenz tagen und die 11. ÖRK-Vollversammlung, die 2022 in Karlsruhe, Deutschland, zum Thema „Die Liebe Christi bewegt, versöhnt und eint die Welt“ stattfinden wird, vorbereiten. Das Leitungsorgan des ÖRK wird sich auch um Geschäftsangelegenheiten kümmern und die Gemeinschaft des ÖRK durch Austausch und Gebet stärken.
