Migration: churches as bridges over fear and prejudices

In times of exploding budget deficits and unemployment figures, migrants are often used as scapegoats for all the ailings and failings of society. In such a context it is the task of the church to uphold the human rights and dignity of all.

Greetings to D.R. Congo human rights workshop

"The work of the churches in the DRC to alleviate the humanitarian crisis, promote a peaceful resolution to the conflict and advocate for an end to the violations of human rights, is admirable," WCC Rev. Dr Olav Fykse Tveit wrote in a message delivered to church leaders and government representatives at a workshop on human rights in the Democratic Republic of Congo on 13 April 2010.
