WCC, KAICIID explore areas of cooperation

A delegation from the KAICIID Dialogue Centre – based in Lisbon – visited the World Council of Churches (WCC) on 22 October to explore areas of common interest and possible cooperation, with a particular focus on issues in the European region.

Church leaders ask for immediate ceasefire in Lebanon

An online meeting was convened on 4 October by the World Council of Churches (WCC) to express solidarity and support, and to provide a safe and constructive space for sharing, reflection, and discussion on the critical challenges currently facing Lebanon. The Middle East Council of Churches and ACT Alliance also participated in the virtual meeting.

His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew I, the Archbishop of Constantinople, met with the Secretary-General of the Muslim Council of Elders, Judge Mohamed Abdelsalam, in Istanbul, Turkey. The discussion focused on enhancing mutual cooperation in promoting and fostering the values of tolerance, coexistence, and interfaith dialogue, as well as its role in combating hate speech and addressing global challenges.
