Veranstaltungen während der IWF- und Weltbank-Frühjahrstagung befassen sich mit Finanzreformen zugunsten schutzbedürftiger Gemeinschaften

Der Ökumenische Rat der Kirchen (ÖRK) war Mitorganisator einer Nebenveranstaltung des Civil Society Policy Forums der jährlichen Frühjahrstagungen des Internationalen Währungsfonds und der Weltbank in Washington, D.C. Die Veranstaltung fand im Präsenz-Format statt. Die Teilnehmenden berichteten über wichtige zivilgesellschaftliche Perspektiven für die Reform der internationalen Finanzinstitutionen, die Bridgetown-Initiative und die Finanzierung des Klimaschutzes.

Events shed light on finance reform, prioritising vulnerable communities

The World Council of Churches (WCC) co-organised an in-person side event at Civil Society Policy Forum of the Spring Meetings of the International Monetary Fund and World Bank in Washington, DC. Participants shared critical civil society perspectives on reforming international financial institutions, the Bridgetown Initiative, and climate finance.

WCC moderator to lead plenary at upcoming G20 Interfaith Forum

World Council of Churches moderator Dr Agnes Abuom will lead a plenary session on empower-ment of women, youth and vulnerable people being held at the G20 Interfaith Forum on 15 Octo-ber. The online forum will feature hundreds of policymakers, prominent experts and religious leaders speaking over five days in dozens of sessions.

WCC moderator contributes to G20 Interfaith Forum on Africa

Dr Agnes Abuom, moderator of the World Council of Churches (WCC), contributed to a G20 Interfaith Forum on Africa hosted by KAICIID, or the International Dialogue Centre, dedicated to the facilitation of dialogue between followers of different cultures and religions.

WCC represented at G20 Interfaith forum in Tokyo

Dinesh Suna, coordinator of the World Council of Churches Ecumenical Water Network, spoke at the G20 Interfaith Forum, held 7-9 June in Tokyo. This year’s theme was “Peace, People, Planet: Pathways Forward.” About 2,000 participants attend the gathering, which precedes the G20 summit in Osaka, Japan. The interfaith forum submitted recommendations for G20 leaders.

El CMI convoca una consulta internacional Cristiano - musulmana

El Consejo Mundial de Iglesias (CMI) acogerá una consulta internacional sobre "Cristianos y Musulmanes en y más allá del diálogo". La consulta, de tres días, tendrá lugar del 16 al 18 de octubre de 2002 en el Centro Ecuménico de Ginebra, Suiza.
